Probability
What is it??
In this section we calculate the probability of single events. We consider case where all the outcome are equally likely.
Example 1:
When you roll a fair dice, what is the probability of getting:
-
Relative Frequency
Some probability cannot be calculated as in the last section; for example, the probability that it will rain on 20 November cannot be found this way.
-
Example 1
Matthew decides to try to estimate the probability that toast land butter side down when it dropped he drops a piece of butter toast 50 times and observes that it lands butter side down 30 times.
-
Expected outcomes is if we know the probability of and event we can estimate the number of times we expect that event to take place.
-
Exclusive Events mean two events are mutually exclusive if only one can take place at any given time.
Example 1: A bag contains 6 red balls,8 yellow ball and 4 green ball. One ball is taken at Radom from the bag. What is the probability that the ball is
The Yellow ball is 8/18 or 4/9.The green ball is 4/18 or 2/9.And the yellow and the green ball mix up is 6/9 or 2/3
