Ecuadorian citizenship also implies active participation in a broader vision of citizenship within the framework of the country's presence in the Andean, South American, and Latin American integration processes
What is an Andean citizen?
An Andean citizen enjoys exclusive rights of a political, economic and social nature and can enforce them at any time and in any country of the subregion, as the regulations of the Andean Community are supranational
The CAN has benefited from intra-community trade, free movement, which allows to freely mobilize in the subregion without a visa or passport
Any Andean citizen has the right to demand before national and subregional authorities that rights and guarantees are fulfilled
Consular Assistance
Every Andean citizen who travels outside the subregion and is in the territory of a third State, or in a locality where the country of origin has no representation
Right to avail themselves of the protection of diplomatic or consular authorities of any another member country of the Andean Community
Rights
Andean citizens have the right to not be discriminated against on grounds of nationality
Andean tourists and that they are recognized the principle of equal treatment and opportunities when they move as Andean migrant workers in the community space
National citizens of a member country have the right to move freely, to be not discriminated against, and to remain in any other member country for work purposes
Andean migrant workers and their beneficiaries have the right to receive the same treatment as other workers in the country of destination
Andean citizens can preserve acquired rights and continuity between affiliations to the social security systems of member countries
