Roles of Ministry of National Development
Established the required standards for Town Council to safeguard residents' interests through Town Council Act and Town Councils Financial Rules
Oversees Town Council performance in key areas
Regulator that sets broad legislative framework for Town Council
Promote good governance through programmes and initiatives
Assess Town Councils' financial adequacy and administers government grants

In Single Member Constituency, MP will be the chairman
2/3 of appointed member must be residents of the estate
Chairman of TC can appoint 6-30 Town Councillors or up to 10 Town Councillors per MP
