2&3. Follows basic rules and steps: Learners become more aware of their responsibilities in the classroom and learn how to manage their resources responsibly (DBE, 2002). Learners should therefore understand basic safety rules and be able to follow them (Naude´ & Meier, 2018). For example: They will know that scissors are potentially harmful and should know how to carry them safely while walking with them. They are also able to follow simple steps of the design process, with help from the teacher (Naude´ & Meier, 2018). Learners are encouraged to be creative, express their ideas and make their own choices (DBE, 2002)
