They must also negotiate = budgets labor and collective bargaining
Management by level - Executives, middle management and first line management
executives - top of the list and responsible for the entire org, especially its direction
middle managers - are responsible for major departments and supervise other lower level managers
need to have technical skills, use the tools and procedures and techniques of their special areas.
human relation skills - ability to work with people and understand employee motivation and group processes
conceptual skills - ability to org and analyze information in order to improve org performance
first line managers supervise rank and file employees and carry out day to day activities
INformational roles - gather collate, analyze, store and disseminate all kinds of information.
as a disseminator they pass info to subordinates and decide if they should have such info
Interpersonal roles - interact with a lot of people, host, take clients out, customers, meet with business prospects and partners
they also lead aka figure head with ceremonial duties
long range planning, environmental scanning, supervision, coordinating, customer relations and marketing, community relations, internal consulting, monitoring products and services.
