The fertilized egg then moves to the uterus, where the uterine lining has thickened in response to the normal hormones of the reproductie cycle.
The female reproductive system
The menstrual cycle :Hormones secreted by the ovaries and a small gland in the brain called the pituitry gland control the menstrual cycle.
Vagina :
A muscular canal around 7.5cm long that extends from the neck of the womb to the genitals,or vulva.
The male reproductive system
Uterus:
A muscular organ, shapped like an upside down pear. Its lining is called the endometrium.
Fallopian :
These tubes extend from the womb, one on each side .They both open near and ovary.
Ovaries:
Two small almond -shaped glands that contain ova.Sex hormones are also made by the ovaries
Penis
Contains tissue that fills with blood during sexual arousal, making the peniserect.
The testicles
Small oval sex glands located in a skin sack called the scrotum.
Epididymis
A series of small tubes attached to the back of each testicle
Vas deferens
The epididymis eventually becomes the vas deferens,.
Accessory sex glands
including the prostate gland, seminal visicles and the bulbourethral glands.
The ovaries produce the egg cells ,called the ova or oocytes. The oocytes are then transported to the fallopian tube where fertilization by a sperm may occur.
The reproductive system of an organism ,also known as the genital system ,is the biological system made up of all the anatomical organs involved in sexual reproduction. Many non-living substances such as fluids ,hormones, and pheromones are also important accessories to the reproductive system.
The type of gametes produced by an organism defines its sex .Commonly in plants and animals ,male organisms produce smaller gametes (spermatozoa, sperm) while female organissms produce larger gametes (ova, often called eggs cells). Organisms that produce both types of gametes are called hermaphropites.
Pairs of gametes fuse to form diploid zygotes that develop into offspring that inherit a selection of the traits of each parent.
The system of organs and parts which function in reproduction consisting in the male especially of the testes ,penis, seminal vesicles, prostate, and urethra and in the female especially of the ovaries ,fallopian tubes, uterus, vagina, and vulva .
