Upgrading Work
Upgrade programmes to improve older estate to match up with newer ones
Home Improvement programme (HIP)
Optional Improvement - upgrading of toilets/bathrooms, replacement of entrance doors/grille gate and replacement of refuse chute hoppers
To encourage resident to upgrade, government offers 90% subsidy and residents only need to pay 10% of the cost.
Essential Improvements - replacement of waste pipe, repair spalling concrete and replacement of pipe socket and upgrading of electrical supply
Help flat owners to deal with issues related to ageing flat such as spalling concrete and ceiling leaks
Lift Upgrading Programme (LUP)
Benefits elderly, disabled and family with young children
Upgrade to able to direct access and serve every floor
Improves lift access
Enhancement for Active Seniors (EASE)
This scheme is for elderly who wish for improvement before Home Improvement Programme (HIP) or do not quality for HIP
Helps elderly to install items that is elder-friendly to improve mobility and comfort at a heavily subsidised cost
Slip resistance treatment to existing tiles up to 2 bedroom/toilets, installation of grab bar in toilet and ramp within flat
Neighbourhood Renewal Programme (NRP)
Upgrade amenities such as covered linkways, drop-off points, sheltered ramps, upgraded playgrounds, fitness corner, jogging tracks, game courts
Fully funded by government
Selective En Bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS)
Affect residents will also be given compensation and rehousing benefits
Affected residents get the opportunity to move to a new home with new 99 year lease
Renew old housing estates
