Germany was required to surrender large sections of land, 100000 men limit, prohibited from possessing an air force, tanks, submarines, or heavy artillery and had to pay reparations of 7 billion British pounds
caused the war because it left Germany in a weakened state and made them angry which made them easily manipulated and made them retaliate
Policy of Appeasement
after coming into power in 1933 Hitler started to violate the terms of the treaty of Versailles and the British and French response to these events was to tolerate them, known as the policy of appeasement
this caused the war because it let Hitler get out of hand and only when Germany invade Poland on the 1st September 1939 did France and Britain abandon the policy and declare war
