Summative
Definition: Summative Assessments are given at the end of a unit and determine what the student knows at this particular time.
Semester Tests: Students are given a test that has a variety of questions that cover topics from the past semester. Usually the topics range from August to December or January to May.
Final Project: Students are able to create a project that shows what they have learned over the previous unit or semester.
Performance
Definition: Performance Assessments monitors a students performance in a topic rather than giving them a test or quiz.
Portfolio: Student work will be collected and this allows them to monitor their growth and performance of academics.

Interim/Benchmark
Definition: Interim/Benchmark Assessments are only given at a certain period, such as every six weeks or every few months. They are used to measure the growth towards a specific goal or standard.

ISIP: ISIP's are given on iStation at the beginning of each month. Students are tested over a variety of skills and are given a score at the end. Afterwards, iStation will have students play games to build their weak skills.
Diagnotic
Defintion: Diagnostic Assessment is a pre-assessment to gather what students know about a topic before its been taught. This can also give the teacher insight on their stregnths, weaknesses, and learning styles.
Running Records: Students read a book and answer comprehension questions while the teacher records the data. This data gives the teacher information about reading skills and ways to teach the student to build these skills.
Unit Pretest: Students will answer questions about a unit that is coming up. This gives the teacher insight about what the students know and how to teach the topic.
Formative
Definition: Formative Assessment is used to get collect evidence of student learning and how they are understand material that has been taught.
