Luella a student nurse who's nervous system became affected by a barking angry dog
Central Nervous System
Brain
The pituitary gland then secretes adrenocorticotropic hormone that is produced as a result when Luella starts stressing thinking the dog will attack her.
The hypothalamus is now activating the adrenal cortical system it then releases corticotropin. This hormone is usually released in response to stressful situations the angry dog barking and growling.
Firstly the hypothalamus is alerted.
It then has to activates the sympathetic nervous system.
It then activates the adrenal medulla.
it now releases the nor epinephrine and the nor epinephrine.
This goes into Luella's bloodstream and targets specific systems in the sympathetic system.
The neural activity is now combined with the hormones that are secreted.
This hormone the adrenocorticotropic hormone is now reaching the adrenal cortex and releases thirty other hormones into the body.
Spinal cord
In the spinal cord there is nothing happening here except for the signals being sent to the different parts of Luella's Body.
Peripheral Nervous System
Somatic Nervous System ![kayd]
Autonomic nervous system (The system that is the body's alarm)
Parasympathetic nervous system
(When the body stabilizes)
Gastro-intestinal system: Her stomach has started to work again activity is now stimulated in the stomach.
Respiritory System: Her airways start to constrict and she breathes slower until it goes back to normal.
Integumentary system: Luella now starts to feel the pain of the wound and re- vasodilation occurs.
Endocrine system:her pancreas starts secreting saliva and her mouth becomes watery again.
The cardiovascular system: After the trauma her heart rate now slows down.
Sensory System: Luella's pupils now contrict.
The urinary System:The bladder now contracts again.
Muscoskeletal system: Her muscles loosen up and is no more tense.
Symathetic nervous system
(The bodys alarm system)
The Urinary System: The bladder relaxes. The adrenal glands secrete adrenaline.(nor- epinephrine and epinephrine)
The Cardiovascular system: She was frightened by the dog and is scared to get bit so immediatly her heart rate increases.
Integumentary system: Luella is now sweating more because her sweat glands are over secreting. Her skin also almost loses the blood flow and so when her knee is scraped she has no sensation of the pain.
Gastro intestinal system: She is eating a bun on her way. Her stomach now has no activity in the intestines and it also inhibits the gall bladder and releases some glucose.
Respiritory System: she starts breathing fast and she is in a panic. Her airways are in a relaxed state because of the adrenaline secreted.
Sensory system: Her eyes will be affected because her pupils will dilate. When she sees that this dog is about to attack her.
Endocrine system: The pancreas prevents saliva from being made so Luella's mouth dries up. No saliva is secreted.
Muscoskeletal system: Luella's muscles are now tense and she gets ready to jump on the wall.
In the Autonomic nervous system she uses her muscles part of the motor system to try and jump on the wall.
