How ISO 14001 works
ISO 14001 specifies the criteria for an environmental management system in general.
The fundamental idea is that the needs of an effective EMS are the same regardless of the activity of the organization.

In this way, organisations and their customers, regulators, the public, and other stakeholders can communicate about environmental management issues.
In order to specify the levels of environmental performance, each business activity would have to have a specific EMS standard.
Since ISO 14001 doesn't specify environmental performance levels, implementing the standard will work regardless of the level of maturity of an organization.
According to ISO 14001, environmental performance is not specified.
Compliance with relevant environmental legislation and regulations is compulsory, along with a commitment to continuous improvement - for which the EMS provides a framework.
Determining aspects and impacts
In the compilation, it is necessary to take into consideration both direct (over which the hotel has control) and indirect (over which it has no control but can influence).
