Until not so many years ago, it was common for children to play outdoors at school
with their classmates and in the street with friends. Games such as hopscotch or spinning top, jumping rope, and marbles, passing the cane through the hoop, or
racing wooden cars were common. Although some of them are still practiced, their place in children's recreation has been taken by new forms of entertainment, such
as television and video games.
