REGULAR VERBS
We add -ed to the base form.
The verb after to does not use tha past form,
Spelling
Add -ed to most regular verds
When de base form ends in e, add -d only.
Die = Died
Live = Lived
When the base form ends in a consonant + y, change "y" to "i" and add "-ed".
Carry = Carried
Study = Studied
When the base form ends in a vowel + y, add "-ed". Do not change the "y".
Stay = Stayed
Enjoy = Enjoyed
When a one-syllable verb ends in a consonant-vowel-consonant, double the final consonant and add "-ed"
Do not double a final w or x
Stop = Stopped
Fix = Fixed
When a two sillable verd ends in a consonant-vowel-consonant, double the final consonant and add "-ed" only if the last syllable is stressed.
Permit = Permitted
When the last syllable of a two- syllable verd is not stressed, do not double the final consonant.
