Verb to be in past
It only has two forms from the past.
Was Were
Depending on the subject you go with, it is used in one way or another.

You only have to put the verb first and the subject after

Add not after was or were. Or use your contraction

Regular verbs
To form the simple past tense of regular
verbs, we add -ed to the base form.
The past form is the same for all persons.
The verb after to does not use the past
form.
We often use ago in sentences about the
past. Ago means before now.
Add -ed to most regular verbs.
