School Boards: oral medication, lifting/positioning, feeding, toileting, speech remediation

: Guidelines for Approval and Provision of an Education and Community Partnership Program
Provides critical support to meet the needs of children and youth who cannot attend school due to their primary need for care, treatment and/or rehabilitation services

: Incorporating Methods of Applied Behaviour Analysis into Programs for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders
Provides direction to school boards to support their use of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) as an effective instructional approach
School boards must offer students with ASD special education programs and services, including, where appropriate, special education programs using ABA methods.
School board staff must plan for the transition between various activities and settings involving students with ASD.

: Supporting Transitions for Students with Special Education Needs
Principal is responsible for ensuring student transition plans are developed, implemented, and maintained
When transition needs are identified for the student, school board staff must ensure that a transition plan is in place that addresses those needs.

History
Bill 82 (1980)- required school boards to provide special education programs and services
1998- provincial government amalgamated school boards and changed the way education is funded
