OXYGEN
What is oxygen used for in our bodies?
How does oxygen reaches the organs?
Cellular respiration: glucose is broken down + oxygen = energy to the cell/ATP = CO2 + H2O get out
There are two types of respiration:
Aerobic respiration:
Anaerobic respiration:
Uses oxygen
Glucose breaks down
It happens in the Cytosol and Mitochondria
High energy is released
CO2 and H20 get out
Doesn't use oxygen
Glucose breaks down
Low energy is released
It happens in the Cytosol
Lacid acid - muscle cells
Plants and fungi have anerobic respiration
There are two main systems involved:
Circulatory system
Respiratory system

What it does?

What it does?
Sources
Gets out oxygen from the air into the lungs
Deliver company used by the organs to transport:
Nutrients
Oxygen
Carbon dioxide
Metabolic wastes
Deliver nutrients and oxygen to the cells
Pumped blood to all the body
Transport blood though the body
Power Point presentation cycle 13
How it does?
Help us to breathe
Chemical reaction that happens inside every living cell
How it does?
From one part of the body, to another
Gets rid of carbon dioxide
Gas exchange
Deoxygenated blood (venus blood) passes trough the blood stream, releasing carbon dioxide
Then the oxygen oxygenate the blood and it gets to other parts of the body
This process happens thanks to the DIFFUSION
And appears in the Alveoli
Veins carry blood to the heart
Then arteries take blood out of the heart
Which makes that the heart beats or pumps
