CRO (A/B Testing)
-
Would require someone who knows the area well? Perhaps we need to find a designer who can provide an insight in this if we can't hire someone specifically for this?
Personal example I always use with clients to go over the major benefits of CRO & A/B testing is https://egopowerplus.co.uk/products/multi-tool/HTA2000S-multi-tool-hedge-trimmer-short - Huge client who undertook A/B testing. Essentially each month we would put together 3/4 tests which would be implemented by the developers. Results would be clear and the example above (Button colours) had a 30% swing in sales either way. A real EASY sell for clients who are looking for ways to maximise their sales.
How familiar are the development team with A/B testing and implementing CRO improvements? Perhaps need some test scenarios or some training
Likely the best additional service to increase JD revenue as we could link it to the increases that we see on client sites? (Believe we discussed this before)Fi
Shouldn't be too tricky to sell to our existing clients. However for new clients, we would need some examples of work we have done and the relevant stats.

Only on WP / Shopify? Also seems like A/B testing is easily done on apps in Shopify. Need to really hammer home the value if we work through an app.

Finances
Have we got the ability to hire someone on a retainer basis each month to support with whichever additional service we choose eventually?
-
Currently bring in roughly £5500pm from retainers. Each additional service (TBD) needs to bring in at least this...
In terms of pricing, keep the 'USP' of being good value for money (Cheap...) - Review in the medium term.
Any time that developers have free in the coming months won't go to waste as they can be research the area that we decide to move into.
Agreed we should be looking to get 2/3 days per month out of clients for whichever service we decide on.
2019 - £100,000. 2020 - £200,00. 2021 - £300,000. 2022 - £500,000. 2024 - £1m

Shopify 'Expert' Support
Still up in the air on this one but is there a way that we can use our Shopify status to offer a top level review of an existing site to lead into potential development work?
Would require solid client buy-in... but arguably lots of clients have already done this through new builds?
-
In terms of highlighting to clients what we've done on this, we could easily put together some case studies and reviews.

JAMIE LIKES THE IDEA OF CREATING AN AUDIT / REPORT (FREE OR NOT) WHICH HIGHLIGHTS DIFFERENT AREAS OF POTENTIAL GROWTH.
GOOD ENTRY POINT FOR CLIENTS. GET THEM IN, AUDIT THEN OFFER PACKAGES.

Getting someone in for this may be tricky depending on costs. Likewise outsourcing isn't something I would personally suggest as it requires day to day familiarity with clients
With lots of our new clients being well... new businesses, they likely won't want the stress of sorting this out themselves or even attempting it
OUTCOME - PERHAPS A FUTURE OPP WHEN OUR CLIENT BASE SUITS. HOWEVER NEED A PLAN IF A CLIENT COMES IN FOR IT.

Vision
T
To become a growth partner (Helping clients with existing stores with some level of pedigree take the next step)

Test Run
Would require a clear set of goals for the developers to hit (Assuming they believe they can deliver on our objectives)
-
-
While the results are important, this is equally as much about the process and making sure it can run smoothly.

Case Studies
100% Required moving forward regardless of which additional services we decide to offer. It's a frame of reference to our success with clients which is currently only done with reviews.
Will require substantial manpower to deliver these to the level that we want. Most agencies have someone that will create these as part of their role. Door4's CSs are excellent and should be what we aim to deliver - https://door4.com/our-work/
-
Anyone we know who could potentially write these for us if we provide them with the basics? (Basically what I am used to doing. I.E ROI, Industry, What we did, How we did it, Future Aims)
Existing Clients
Might be worth providing the service to a few clients for free? I'd LOVE to try A/B testing on Tank.
MUCH easier sell on things. Might be a way to get some more hesitant clients with tighter pursestrings to get involved with additional work.

Presenting The Service
-
-
-
Ideally we don't want to be jumping through a dozen hoops for clients on whatever service we offer. It should almost sell itself.
Time
Ideally this new service can't come with significant time impacts on our existing roles. Therefore it needs to be fluid.
In order for any additional service to be profitable, we need to make sure that we're as efficient as possible to avoid slippage.
Need to consider the implications if the new services really started to get popular. Would it impact on our existing roles?
Time put into this needs to have a direct relation to the additional revenue brought in (If I spend 30% of my time on this, we want a fair return on that eventually)
Packages
Personally I think that regardless of the approach we take, that offering our services in a package format (Gold / Silver / Bronze) is a good way to approach it.
-
Need to make sure that there's clear benefit to higher tiers of said packages. From experience having worked with companies that offer similar, there's not always a big difference.
-
New Clients
-
-
Potentially easier to get them on higher tiers of packaging IMHO. Existing clients won't go from paying £500pm to £1500. New clients might.
Do we sell the new services on-top of the retainer or does it replace it? Say a client asks for a 3 day retainer... Do we offer the additional services as part of this or is the current retainer strictly dev work?
