Conditionals (First, second and Third Conditional)
First Conditional

Structure
Conditional clause: Main clause
If + present tense + , + will + infinitive / present tense / imperative
Example
If it rains, we will have to cancel the picnic.
Second Conditional
Use:

They establish the course of action that would follow, where something to happen is either hypothetically or surreal.
Structure
Conditional clause: Main Clause
if + past tense +, + would + infinitive.
Example
If I were you, I would ask her to marry me.
Third conditional
Use
This conditional talks about the past, unlike the first and second which discusses events in the real or unreal future.
These conditions, too, are impossible, because they have either already occurred or might have occurred but won’t anymore.
Structure
Conditional clause: Main clause
if + past perfect tense +, + would have + past participle.
Example
If I had studied a little more in college, life would have been easier.
Remeber:
We do not normally use will or would in the conditional clause, only in the main clause.
The structure of the conditionals shows the condition (Conditional clause) and the result of this (main clause)
