Grammar
- Revision of all concepts.
Emergent Writing
Learners communicate the day's news y means of drawings. They draw what happened yesterday which they would like to tell the class and teacher about.

Mathematics
Numbers, Operations and Relationship:
- Rote counting up to 10.
- Counting forwards and backwards.
- Counting in 5's up to 20.
- Identifies number pictures and dot cards 5, 6, 7; Knows the number symbols 5, 6, 7 and recognizes the number names five, six and seven (Informal Assessment)
- Oral addition and subtraction operation up to 7
(use vocabulary: add, take away, how many put together, how many left)

Learners collect sticks/twigs from the school grounds and, back in in class, each gets 7 small counters. Flash a number symbol from 0 -7 using large flash cards Learners build the number symbol using sticks/twigs and place the correct number of counters by the symbol they built. Repeat with al the numbers that have to be covered.
Compare numbers bigger/smaller: Learners play with the friend across from them. They sit with their hands behind their backs. The teacher rings a bell, and they quickly and simultaneously put a number of fingers (up to 10) on the table. They must compare whose number is the biggest and whose is the smallest. Play the game a few times.
Patterns, Functions and Algebra:
- Sharing/grouping up to number 7.
- Build a 20 piece puzzle
- Remember patterns of 4 units and pack out by copying the sequence in the correct order and colours,
- Create own shapes/pictures using shapes.
Give learners blocks/counters and let then share then between 2 friends. How many do the friends get each? How many are left?

Space and Shape
- Round off the following spatial concepts and spatial relationships: in front/in the middle/between/last/behind, before/after; up/upwards/on top; next to, one side/other side; below/underneath.
- Finalise recognition and naming of: yellow, red, blue, green, black, orange, brown, purple, white
- Finalise: 2-D shapes, circles/triangles/squares/rectangles

Learners use their pencil case to practice the following spacial concepts: patial concepts and spatial relationships: in front/in the middle/between/last/behind, before/after; up/upwards/on top; next to, one side/other side; below/underneath.
Measurement
- Mass Practical measuring using concepts: light/heavy heavier; lighter just as heavy/light (Assessment Task activity)
Make a balance scale with containers and a coat hanger
Use their scale to measure various objects around the classroom and outside (sand, stones, blocks, pencils etc.)
Mass with kitchen scale: Show learners how the kitchen scale works. The further the needle/hand moves clockwise, the heavier the object being weighed. Now weigh the same objects that were used above on the kitchen scale. (sand, stones, blocks, pencils etc.)

Presentation:
- The learners will pretend that they are a news presenter.
- They will choose the concept they found the most interesting/enjoyable. E.g. dinosaurs; water; etc.
- They will present a newscast presentation to the rest of the class.
