Refugees and Immigration
-
John Falconer
He understands the struggles that the refugees face since he lives amongst them in AfricTown. He wants to make a documentary through which he would expose the truth about how the illegals are treated in Freedom State and how much discrimination and racism colored people have to face.
"His prize is ten thousand dollars' worth of computer and video-recording equipment which he has requested so he can make a documentary film about AfricTown"
Family Party
Does not consider the refugees as humans who need basic rights and instead refers to them as illegals since they do not have their documentations. They want the illegals to be deported back to their country as soon as possible.
"The government of Freedom State was quickly moving to a close loophole regarding illegals. An Amendment to the Act to Prevent Illegals from Abusing Generosity of Freedom State has been tabled."
Human Rights
-
Viola Hills
Has a deep rooted dislike for the family party because they support deporting the refugees and also discriminate them
"With a government elected on a boot out refugees program?[...] This was one reason why she despised the family party. In her opinion, it gave Freedom State license to hate refugees"
Refuses to use the word "illegals" to name the refugees in Freedom State because it is very insulting.
"Viola refused to use the term. [It was far to accuse somebody of not doing something illegal but not to say that they were illegal."
Family and Respect
Keita Ali
Keita was raised in a very caring and kind family. He knows that he should be respectful to everyone and help others when in need.
"In my country, old people are ventrated. They are wise. We know that and treat them well."
Jimmy Beech
Jimmy is very disrespectful to his mother, Ivernia. He wants to claim all her assets as his own and throw his mother in an old age centre so that she would have to leave all her belongings to him. Jimmy does not care at all about his mother and only cares about the money she owns.
"My son is angry because I won't let him stay. He wants to take over my bank accounts and house and run my life. He is pushing sixty years of age, and he has the emotional development of a six year old."
Determination
Keita AlI
Even after his health being at the lowest while he was running the marathon, he still kept going and gave it his best because he was determined to win the prize money and save his sister from the Zantoroland government officials.
"I am blown away that you could run a sixty three minute half marathon while suffering from dehydration. It would take me sixty three minutes to job half that distance in perfect health."
Viola Hill
To uncover the truth about what happened to Yvette Peters and Yoyo Ali and the truth behind the deportation process from Freedom State to Zantoroland, Viola risked her life to be able to fill her duties as a journalist and for the world to finally know about the corrupt truth,
"If I were you, I would get on the first plane out of Zantoroland. The government does not take kindly to journalists."
