Magna Carta - 1215 - Guaranteed right to a fair trial. Protection from arbitrary imprisonment. Limits on taxation.
Bill of rights - 1689 - Limits the power of monarch. Enhances the power of Parliament. Prohibited cruel and unusual punishment.

Parliament Acts - 1911/1949 - Removed the power of the HoL to block money bills. Imposed a max 1 year delay on the HoL.
European Communities Act - 1972 - Took the UK into the European Economic Community. Incorporated the Treaty of Rome into UK law, giving EU law supremacy.
