Radio ownership rose faster than Newspaper readers as Radios started to be mass produced at low cost.
The expansion of car ownership meant more people used the radio in cars.
The first commercial television was showcased in 1939 and the government gave tax breaks to media businesses selling TV sets after the SWW.
The quality of TV increased as shows had special effects and they could be pre-recorded.
By 1970s Sports and News were the only shows live.
There was opposition as conservatives believed that the TV series were promoting crime and that quiz shows were scripted.
