Pollution
Land Pollution
refers to the deposition of solid or liquid waste materials on land or underground in a manner that can contaminate the soil and groundwater, threaten public health, and cause unsightly conditions and nuisances.
The world generates 2.01 billion tonnes of municipal solid waste annually, with at least 33 percent of that—extremely conservatively—not managed in an environmentally safe manner. Worldwide, waste generated per person per day averages 0.74 kilogram but ranges widely, from 0.11 to 4.54 kilograms.
Air Pollution
refers to the release of pollutants into the air that are detrimental to human health and the planet as a whole.
Emissions from vehicles and forest fires are the main causes of air pollution. Vehicles and forest fires give out carbon monoxide, ozone, and many more toxic gases.
Some of these gases mix and react with water, oxygen, and other chemicals to form more acidic pollutants, known as acid rain, which damages stone statues.
Water Pollution
is the release of substances into bodies of water that makes water unsafe for human use and disrupts aquatic ecosystems.
World wide, 13,000-15,000 pieces of plastic are dumped into the ocean every day. Every year, 6.4 million tonnes are dumped into the ocean. This is the same as 3,200 kilometres of trucks each loaded with garbage. At least two thirds of the world's fish stocks are suffering from plastic ingestion.
Noise Pollution
is the propagation of noise with ranging impacts on the activity of human or animal life, most of them harmful to a degree.
Is caused by machines, transport, and propagation systems.
Global Warming
Too many greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane are being produced excessively, trapping too much heat from the sun.
-
Deforestation
Forests contain many plants, which capture greenhouse gases. However, we cut them down to use for paper and other functions. This contributes to the increase of carbon dioxide and destroys natural habitats for animals to live in.
Food wastage
An estimated 1.3 billion tonnes of food is wasted globally each year. This is one-third of the food we produce. Rotting food create methane emissions that add to
climate change.
-
-
Hunting
Excessive hunting endangers many species, such as elephants and giant pandas.
POSITIVE
Technology
Now, we use phones and computers. Applications such as Word Documents and more help us use less paper.
Biotechnology
Biotechnology is technology that utilizes biological systems, living organisms or parts of this to develop or create different products. Brewing and baking bread are examples of processes that fall within the concept of biotechnology.
New materials
Man has made many new materials, such as paper, cloth, plastic, glass and many more that are useful to man. [Although some are not good for the environment]

Water conservation
There are many campaigns to conserve water. PUB, for example, made NEWater, which is reused water.
