It is a set of rules about language based on its actual use, and there is no right or wrong language. Languages have a similar structure, so that each language has its own grammar and can be spoken.
CHARACTERISTICS
It is the basis of dictionaries, which record changes in vocabulary and usage.

PRESCRIPTIVE GRAMMAR
It is the traditional approach of grammar that tells people how to use the English language, what forms they should utilize, and what functions they should serve. Prescriptive grammar is essential as it helps people use formal English speech and writing.
CHARACTERISTICS
It has defined linguistic rules that help reduce confusion.
It creates writers and formal resources.
It is beneficial for both teachers and non-native learners.
It deals with the strict rules of correctness and incorrectness.
Starts with arbitrary rules.
It has a prescribed standard usage.
Has a variety regardless of dialectal variation.
Has rules derived primarily from written language.
