Macbeth Quotes and Plot
Macbeth was brave on battlefield
After Macbeth defeats the traitor Thane of Cawdor, he meets the witches who tell him and Banquo their prophecies. Macbeth writes to Lady Macbeth explaining that his future is to be king. This later leads Lady Macbeth to encourage and influence Macbeth to kill the KIng (committing regicide). Macbeth kills KIng Duncan and becomes king- Macduff is the person to discover Duncan's body. Banquo starts o suspect Macbeth's motif and so Macbeth orders 3 murderers to kill Banquo and Fleance his son- as his children are heirs to the throne. Fleance escapes and Banquo is stabbed to death. The withes make more predictions.That no one women borne (whom) can defeat Macbeth unless Birnam wood moves to Dunsinane. (Macduff is cesarean so he can defeat Macbeth). Macbeth laters goes on to kill Macduff family, Macduff swears revenge, this is after Macduff visits Malcolm in Scotland to make him come back, Malcolm is suspicious and tells him he is a worthless King to test Macduff loyalty. Lady Macbeth has a rush of guilt and has fit episodes of sleepwalking and it is assumed that she committed suicide.Birnam wood branches is chopped down by Malcolms men the move it to Dunsinane and Macbeth is in trouble. Macbeth fights to the death- Macduff kills him.
