What is le présent?
The french present tense and corresponds to the English present.
Similarities & Differences
French Nouns have Genders: All French nouns are either masculine or feminine.
The differences is : pronunciations effects the parts of speeches, due to the vowels and particularly the letter R.
Same parts of speech : Verbs, nouns, pronouns, adjectives and prepositions.
French uses Negation Differently. In English you negate verbs by adding the negation before the verb, However in french you use double negation surrounding the verb.
French uses Tenses Differently
In French people use tenses to convey a specific meaning.
In English people use tense to show if something happened in the past, present or future
French adjectives comes after the Nouns.
Spelling Rules and Exceptions
Drop the -ER of the infinitive to get the stem, than add the six present tense endings
To the stem, add the ending corresponding the subject pronoun
Remove the "er", this will give you what is called 'the stem' in grammatical.
Each verb ending ends with it's own conjugation rules
Steams and endings are what indicates verb's tense and subject
There are Tenses of the French conjugation such as indicative, Subjunctive, conditional, imperative, infinitive, & participle. French verb tenses ca be divided into two categories : simple and compound
How to conjugate le présent in French?
To conjugate a verb in French present tense, we add specific endings to the infinitive of the verb depending on whether it ends in -ER, -IR or -RE
--- even if the verbs are REGULAR or IRREGULAR
To conjugate the verb, write down the pronouns. Than write down the whole verb, take off the last 2 letters than add on the new endings
( -ER, -IR, -RE)
