The Maximato
Former President Obregón had enormous influence on Calles' Mexican policies, and promoted a modification of the national constitution to allow for reelection. Thus, Álvaro Obregón was reelected in 1928 but could not take office, as he was assassinated in July of that year.
Is the era of Plutarco Elías Calles. Who was expelled from the country in the year of1936, when Lázaro Cárdenas finished his first year as president.
The Maximato was the period that Calles continued to exercise power and exert influence without holding the precidency.
Calles could not hold the precidency again because of restrictions on re-election without an interval out of power, but he remained the dominant figure in Mexico.

The main characteristic that identifies the Maximato is the duality of powers represented by the President of the Republic and the maximum leader of the Revolution, a situation that delayed the institutionalizing project initiated by Calles himself when he promoted the foundation of the National Revolutionary Party.
