Displays lack of awareness with the teacher
Communication with Special Education Director, previous teachers and co-teachers, and parents to discuss initial observations of the student.

Student found eligible for services.
IEP meeting is scheduled
IEP meeting is held and the IEP is written.
Eligibility is decided.
Observation of the student potentially needing special services
Services are provided.
Progress is measured and reported to parents.
IEP is reviewed.
Student is reevaluated. *Evaluation must happen at least every 3 years.

Have a rewards system tailored for the student.
Incorporate technology. Videos, interaction with the Smartboard TV, use of various hand held devices, Power Point presentations, computer software etc.
Allow student's input on classroom environment and learning styles
Allow extra time for assignments and activities.
Implement various learning styles
Rework Assignments. Allow them to use different materials. Present the assignment in an alternative way.
Incorporate the student’s interests and skills into learning

Special Education services are rarely provided. If the school does offer special education services they will be provided in a separate classroom. This method eliminates mainstreaming.
In Taiwan, the resources and departments are not as prevelant like The United States.
From my experience, I have had students that have displayed signs of struggling. Typically, the only means of intervention is communicating with the parents about what I have documented.
