What are the symptoms?
Severe symptoms
Lack of treatment may lead to mental disabilities and behavioral problems after the first few months after birth
Other symptoms may include: seizures, developmental delays, autism, eczema, and lighter hair/skin than the rest of the family

Treatment included liminting that amount of phenylalanine intake, special low-proetin foods, and vitamin/mineral intake

Is PKU inherited?
Yes. This disorder is an auosomal recessive pattern, meaning that each parent must carry one copy of the gene
