COMMUNICATION
Communication is the fundamental act of human beings that allows them to define themselves as such and grow in society. Through communication we can express our thoughts and feelings, and contribute to our personal and social growth. We live in a society where communication is fundamental.
WAYS OF COMMUNICATION
Communication is not just talking. We can also use our gestures and body. Communication requires that we listen to others and we are able to return a message that expresses what we think or we feel in agreement with what we have been told. It involves a back and forth message.

THE MEDIA
The media (mainly television, press, radio, and internet) are instruments through which messages reach us. They can serve to foster communication in society as a whole and promote social and cultural values, or to distort, manipulate or try to standardize our criteria.

MASS CULTURE
Television as an audiovisual media, combined with internet, music and video games, conjugated with the youth needs, identity, and consumption produce what is known as mass culture, because it affects large groups of the society
ADVERTISING
Advertising is distorting the main function of the media. From disseminating information and energizing cultural values, it has descended to the level of a link between producers and consumers. This means that its own independence is diminished.
