Most woman in third estate had to work for a living
Worked as seamstresses or laundresses ,sold flowers,fruits and vegetables ,or were employed as domestic servants in the houses of prosperous people

Women could now train for jobs become artisans or run small businesses
During reign of terror government issued laws ordering closure of women's club and banning their political activity
Many prominent women arrested and executed
1964- women got the right to vote
