NATURAL WONDERS OF
NORTH AMERICA
Denali, the highest summit in the subcontinent. It is in Alaska. Denali, the indigenous name means "the tallest" "the biggest".
Grand Canyon. It is located in Arizona, USA. It is formed by the Colorado River
Missouri, the longest river in North America
FIVE PHYSICAL REGIONS OF NORTH AMERICA:
Western Physical Region
The best known of these mountains are probably the Rockies, the largest mountain range in North America. The Rockies extend from the province of British Columbia to the U.S. state of New Mexico.
The Great Plains
They are in the middle of the subcontinent. A deep and rich soil covers large flat areas of Canada and the USA. It is the area where a lot of grain is grown (wheat, barley, oats, corn, soybeans and now also quinoa), A lot of grain is grown in this region, that is called the “Breadbasket of North America,” which feeds a large part of the world. The Great Plains are also home to rich deposits of oil and natural gas.
Coastal plains of the Mexican Gulf
Found almost entirely within the United States, the North American Coastal Plain stretches from a small section of northern Mexico along the Gulf of Mexico and up the East Coast to southeastern Massachusetts. Contains much wetland, mostly swamps & marshes. Both are sources of shellfish & many other aquatic lifeforms
CENTRAL AMERICA IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Central America is the subcontinent of the. the isthmus of Tehuantepec in Mexico to the. south of the Isthmus of Panama. the strip of land that joins the other two. subcontinents, North America and South. According to the classification of. Spanish-speaking countries, this. subcontinent includes the Caribbean region.
NORTH AMERICA GENERAL
INFORMATION
Its biggest country is Canada and its smallest country is St Kitts and Nevis with only about 54,000 inhabitants. This island country is located in the Caribbean Sea. North America also includes the huge Greenland Island in the northeast and the islands that are located in the north of the Atlantic Ocean, with that at its northern end the continent extends for almost half of the globe.
THE CARIBBEAN REGION
This region includes more than 7,000 islands, islets, and coral reefs. Some countries/islands in the Caribbean are: Cuba, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, among others.
