Characterization
Ralph
He is the leader of the group, also a rational person with good judgment, also the most civilized of the group, he represents democracy in a society.
Piggy
He is a person with little physique but with a great intellectual capacity, the most intelligent of the group and represents civilization.
Jack
He is an authoritarian and militaristic person, he is the complete opposite of Ralph, and over the course of the play he becomes more cruel and sadistic against the other children.
Plot and Structure
They use Piggy's glasses to make a fire and be able to send a smoke signal, Jack became the head of the hunters however he always wanted to be the leader, one day the dead body of a paratrooper falls dead in the jungle, and the Children mistake him for a beast, and little by little this spontaneous society is destroyed.
This story begins with the accident that leaves a group of children stranded on an island, without an adult to guide them, at first Ralph assumes command due to a group vote, and designates each of the children to a role
Jack withdraws from the group and creates his own, most of the children go to the other group, in a type of ritual they mistake Simon for the beast and They kill him, some time later Roger kills Piggy with a rock and then Jack's group tries to kill Ralph but the adults just come to rescue them.
Setting:
The story takes place on an island where they arrive due to an accident where all the adults die and the children remain.
This refers to the Cold War conflict between liberal democracy and totalitarian communism, and the story is temporarily set at the end of the Second World War.
