Suffering may be considered good because Jesus suffered on the cross, and suffering may be a way to get closer to God.
Augustine - he thinks that because of the original sin there is evil in the world. he believes that humans are the cause of all evil.

Jews believe that humans were born with temptation and must choose whether to do good or evil. However, they believe that humans are born to do good.. it is not possible to hide your actions from god.
Sin - a deliberate action that has negative consequences that were intended to occur by those that perform it.

Conscience: something based of of personal experience or preference that may direct the course of your actions and whether you consider them to be good or evil.
Some people think that to get into heaven we have to develop our souls: by doing good or "developing your souls."

Beatitudes - The teachings of Jesus performed on the sermon on the mount and described attributes that good Christians should have. Also teaches the path to genuine happiness
Jesus said: "live a simple life, be kind to the weak, work to do good, be a peace maker, show mercy, trust God when you suffer"

Moral law - a universal law based on conscience that humans usually follow eg. no theft, killing, etc.

Prison chaplains - people that work in prisons who provide counselling to inmate and help them get closer to god and repent their sins
Sources of wisdom: things that may change our judgement or perceptions toward something, such as your friend telling you that a certain thing is bad. there are many different sources of wisdom, such as: friends and family, personal experience, rational thinking and our consciences. However, many people's sources of wisdom come from religion and the teachings that go along with it.
