How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?
Software
IMovie
IMovie is a very simple editing software, when first blogging I only knew how to connect clips together but throughout this yewar I have learnt to edit, cut, add transitions and add my own audio. We used this platform for our preliminary task to just connect some clips together.
Voicethread
I only used Voicethread a couple times when analysing some text and posters, at first I found it quite hard to wrap my head around the software and how to record and stop recording but after doing it a couple more time i got used to it
Davinci
This is the editing software we ended up deciding to use, we first wanted to use premier pro as we had already had a tutorial but we both thought it was very hard to understand. With DaVinci it was a-lot easier to work through which will be a benefit in the long run
Voicememo
Much like Voice thread I had only used this a couple times when it came to my media coursework, as I had used it outside the classroom for other things so I was therefore very familiar with it. On the occasion i used this was when i was interviewing some friends about horror and then transported the audio into an IMovie then further uploading it to YouTube.
Online
Google
Most of my research on my blogs has come from goggle. I have researched a-lot of things for example, theorists, codes and conventions and images for my title pictures.
Youtube
Another big thing for this coursework was my YouTube channel, I created it at the very start and have over 30 videos on there (some unlisted). I use YouTube to upload longer videos and then link the video to my blogger page. My favourite part about the coursework was being able to upload things onto my YouTube channel.
Blogger
Obviously blogger has been my most used online website used, everything I have done has been all put onto my blog. I have completed around 90 blogs in total which I a very happy about.
Hardware
Microphone
When we first started filming we had a lot of technical issues with the microphone as we didn't know where to plug it in, forgot to turntext it on and sometimes it didn't pick up any of the sound. We ended up not using it as much and found we preferred the sound quality without it anyway but it was still good to try it.
Camera
**[I had never really used a camera before, only my phone or older cameras. So when using this camera I had to watch quite a lot of tutorials on how to start the recording and how to retrieve the film. The camera I used was the D3500. After watching the videos about it I found it a lot easier to navigate my way around.
Laptop
I use my laptop a lot in my other subjects but mainly in media for things like editing, music and uploading. For our final product, Millie and I edited some clips on IMovie and then transferred them to Davinci.
Tripod
I was the person in charge of filming, which in itself was quite a big responsibility as I had to steady the camera with the use of the tripod and also had to get the right shots. This was the first time I had used a proper tripod so it was fun to get the hang of it .
Most used websites
Voicethread
Much like Decktopus, I had only used Voicethread once or twice. I did like using Voicethread but I found it very infuriating when filming as I had to talk, pause and draw all at the same time.
Coggle
Obviously I have used this website multiple times as I am using it right now, I used it for more mapping and presentation things which contained a lot of information
Decktopus
I wouldn't consider this my most used website as i only used it once, i would recommend it though as it was a very simple software to get my head around but I wasn't able to get a sharable link, therefore, making me not use it for a second time. To solve this problem I screen recorded my presentation and posted it onto youtube, however it had no sound.
