RADAR TECHNOLOGY
WHAT IS
RADAR
-
it is a way to detect and study the far off targets by transmitting a radio pulse in the direction of the target
-
-
Radars will create an electromagnetic pulse (EM PULSE) that is focused by an antenna and then it will be transmitted through the atmosphere
The objects in the path of the transmitted EM pulse (targets/echoes) will scattered most of the energy, but some of it will be reflected back towards the RADAR
-
Radar beam can be attenuated, reflected and bent by the environment

ADVANTAGES OF RADAR
Radar provide superior penetration capability through any type of weather condition & can be used in day & night
Radar used radio wave that does not require a medium, and it can be used in space & air
