Pathophysiology
Occurs when there is no sufficient blood supply to the brain
Brian cells are unable to get enough nutrients and oxygen they need from the blood
Nursing care plan
Diagnosis
Paralysis in the arm, leg and face
Difficulty in speaking
Nursing intervention
Monitor the vitals signs
Observe for signs of Intracranial pressure
Administer osmotic diuretics as prescribed
Encourage the patient to exercise
Goal
To detect Intracranial pressure as early as possible
To promote the flow of blood to the brain
To monitor the effectiveness of the treatment the patient is taking
To strengthen body muscles
Evaluation
Vital signs will be stable
Enough blood will flow to the brain
Body muscles will be strong and flexible
