Assessment
History
Greek Judeo-Hebraic assessment through debate "Plato's Dialogue"(Pinar, et. al, 1995 )
"the examinations for entry into the professions became more rigorous, and often the state played some role in the administration of exams. Because schools had been the traditional source for supplying staff to the bureaucracies, the schools themselves began to introduce examinations" (Cummings, 1990, P. 91).
Rigorous forms of evaluating educational achievement are believed to have been developed first in China by the Sui empires 589-613 CE/BC (Pinar, et. al, 1995 )
Rhetorical tradition - Oral examinations 17th Century - Almost exclusive means used in Europe (Cummings, 1990). Apprentices were widly used by many professions (Young, 2019 )
