Trapped moisture in the external ear canal, cause maceration of the skin and provide a breeding ground for bacteria

physical examination

antibiotics: floxacin, ciprofloxacin, gentamicin

acetic acid drops which change the pH of the ear canal

encourage the patient to avoid contributing factors
