Cerebral hypoxia
Defination
Specifically that invoithe brain
When brain is completely deprived of oxygen
Is a form of reduced supply of oxygen
Causes
Hypotension
Anesthesia complications during surgery
Brain injury, cjoking
Breathing carbon monoxide poisoning
Clinical manifestations
Loss of memory and decreased in motor coordination
The brain cells are very sensitive to oxygen deprivation
Includes inattentiveness, poor judgement
And may begin to die within five minutes after oxygen supply has been cutted off
Pathophysiology
Brain needs a very constant supply of oxygen and nutrients
This condition affects the largest part of brain
Called the cerebral hemisphere
Pharmacological management
It occurs when there is no enough oxygen reaching the brain
Hypoxemia may be caused by underlying condition such as asthma and pneumonia
So oxygen supplement must be provided
Oxygen therapy can be utilized to treat hypoxemia
Nursing care plan
Stroke risk screening to make the risk of stroke is being prevented sooner
Low dose of aspirin to lower risk of stroke
Teach patient on how to maintain healthy lifey and healthy diet
Establish endotracheal tube to establish patent airway
