MENIERE'S DISEASE
Causes
The causes of this condition are unknown, but thought to be related to malabsorption of the endolymph in the membranes labyrinth.

Pathophysiology
Researchers report that the changes in the labyrinth stimulates production of excess endolymph which distorts the contour of the membranous labyrinth and destroys the delicate vestibular and cochlea hair cells.

Nursing intervention
Reassure the patient and give counseling about possible ways to manage and treat it and that it is not life threatening. It can be treated with medication
Antihistamines, anticoligenics and benzodiazepine can be administered for further suppression of the endolymph produces but when and only if prescribed by the doctor
Patient should be advised to get enough rest, if this doesn't calm the attack, sedation should be administered.
