Social ranking plays a large role in setting goals for your American Dream. People that are higher up in societ tend to strive to become more happy, while people that are poor or lower down in society are just trying to make money or clim up the social hierarchy.

Religions around the world allow for more diversity among people beliefs and core values. When setting goals for ones American Dream, religion needs to be accounted for. Goals or dreams can be influenced by religion. One example might be someone working to maintain happiness but also spiritual growth and spiritual happiness as well.
