Summery
The author has become fond of birds since her fathers death and to distract herself from her grief decides to purchase a hawk. Upon buying the bird she meets a small, fragile bird whom she immeadiately forms a connection with but it is discovered that she has been given the wrong bird and her hawk is instead a larger, older bird. The narrator does not connect with this bird and ultimately exchanges the bird for the first one she met
