Evaluation:
- Some teachers may be racist but so not show it in the classroom and often do not stand for negative stereotyping
- Shouldn't be assumed that all teachers are racist - many make efforts to overcome prejudice
- Schools are often the first to tackle racism and promote equality

Evaluation:
- MEG may suffer from low self-esteem
- Culture clash between MEG and White MC schools (Bourdieu's Theory of CC)
- May appear that there is an equal opportunity but really MC white children have an advantage due to education system inequality
- Many schools attempt to tackle racism and enforce a multicultural curriculum
- Troyna and Williams Make MEG experience better with the 3 S's (Saris, Samosas and Steel bands) overcoming the 3 R's (Resistance, Rejection and Rebellion)

Evaluation:
- Low expectations and negative labels aren't always accepted
- Mac and Ghaill - ^ Don't always have negative effects on students that lead to the SFP
- Students may adopt survival strategies (resist school but work hard)
- Wright Interview study (Black 14-19 year olds in London and Nottingham) who had been excluded from school actively resisted negative stereotypes turning negative labels into positive ones
- Not all labels = SFP ( Fuller BC girls aspire
