KINGDOM PROTISTA - Coggle Diagram
KINGDOM PROTISTA
divided into 5 groups:
chrysophytes.
photosynthetic, grows in aquatic regions, diatomaceous earth, and is abrasive in nature.
dinoflagellates.
photosynthetic, marine, chlorophyll-bearing, has two flagella, enclosed body by stiff cellulose plates.
euglenoids.
photosynthetic, grows in fresh water, has pellicle that helps the body to flex, has two flagella, and has two modes of nutrition; autotrophic and heterotrophic.
slime moulds.
saprophytic protists, aggregates together to form plasmodium which grows and spreads over several feet,
protozoans.
heterotrophs, predators or parasites, primitive relative of animals, aquatic protozoans
divided into four groups: amoeboid, flagellated, ciliated, sporozoans.
amoeboid- aquatic, no particular shape, captures it prey using pseudopodia.
flagellated- possess flagella, parasitic or free living.
ciliated- aquatic, cilia -bearing which helps in movement, food taken through the gullet.
sporozoans- forms spores, has no flagella or cilia, has a gliding movement, parasitic and pathogenic.
