Plate Boundaries
Destructive Boundaries
A destructive plate boundary is where a oceanic plate is forced under the less dense continental plate. Friction causes the melting of the oceanic plate as it enters the hotter mantle. This is sometimes when earthquakes occur.
Constructive Boundaries
Constructive plate boundaries pull apart and magma rises up to fill the gap between the plates this can cause mid ocean ridges. Also volcanoes and earthquakes occur at plate boundaries.
Conservative Boundaries
Conservative boundaries are plates that go alongside each other and build up pressure until they slip and cause an earthquake.
