Hone Heke
also known as Heke Honai
Hone Heke was a strong and powerful ngapuhi chief
He was the first to sign the treaty.
As well as being known as a powerful chief he was also known as a trickster- and those allegations were true, he thought the treaty business was a game and only signed it because he thought it would benefit himself the most. He was also quite selfish.
He was able to eventually convince many of the chiefs to sign, despite another chief yelling that they would betray their ancestors and that it is the wrong thing to do.
Kawiti
a chief who despises the treaty
His people eventually convinced him to sign, despite him not wanting to and his name was above Hone Heke's despite him being one of the last to sign
Kawiti was known as a wise old chief among his tribe despite his hate for the treaty,
Tamati Waka Nene
doesn't like Hone Heke
He always intended to sign he believed that it would help him have control over his part of the ocean, the land and their treasures.
He never thought that the treaty was bad although he didnt agree with Hone Heke and his believes towards it.
He helped defeat a Maori chief who had joined the English side.

He was the man first commissioned to be New Zealand's first governor
He appointed Henry Williams to finish the treaty as he was sick.
two years after the treaty was signed as predicted by the Maori, Hobson was dead, which left the Land in a bit of a mess.
He travelled to New Zelanad to create a treaty with the Maori.
