Operating requirements: domestic, flag, and supplemental operations
§ 121.339 Emergency equipment for extended over-water operations
without having on the airplane the following equipment no person may operate an airplane
enough life rafts of a rated capacity and buoyancy
min - one pyrotechnic signaling device for each life raft
approved survival type emergency locator transmitter
life preserver equipped with an approved survivor locator light, for each occupant
life rafts, life preservers, and survival type emergency locator transmitter - easily accessible
survival kit attached to each required life raft.
§121.340 Emergency flotation means
equipped with life preservers/approved flotation means for each occupant (within easy reach of occupant and readily removable from the airplane)
operation of an airplane over water without the life preservers/flotation means (if water is not of such size and depth that life preservers or flotation means would be required for the survival in the event the flight terminates in that water.
14 CFR Part 125
Certification and operations: airplanes having a seating capacity of 20 or more passengers or a maximum payload capacity of 6,000 pounds or more; and rules governing persons on board such aircraft
