Different types of recycling - Coggle Diagram
Different types of recycling
Cardboard and paper
Biodegradable
Can be burnt to generate heat and energy
Could be a possibility to make a manufacturing process more sustainable
Poisonous gases aren't released when burned
Recycling of these items reduces the amounts of trees being chopped down
Treated paper, dirty paper/cardboard, shredded paper, and tissue paper
Plastics
High-density polyethylene is the most common plastic to recycle
Thermoset plastics cannot be recycled as they have irreversible chemical reactions in them
Different plastics will generally have numbers labelled on them: 1 through to 5 are recyclable whereas 6 and 7 can't bet
Metals
Can be recycled continuously without damaging their properties
Types of metals include steel, gold, aluminium, copper, and silver
Only radioactive metals and mercury can't be recycled
Electronic devices
Wood
Glass
Any types of glass can be recycled
Even if they are contaminated they are washed for impurities in a treatment plant
Clothing and textiles
All types of clothing can be recycled to be used in other products such as furniture
Another option if the clothing is in good condition is to donate them to a charity that gives it to someone else to use
Bricks and inert waste
