Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf
The play begins with Martha and George returning from a party at Martha’s father’s house. Martha begins to curse, and George tries to silence her, reminding her that it’s two o’clock in the morning.
Martha orders George to make her a drink and informs him that they have guests coming over, but can’t remember their guests’ names. She describes the male guest as attractive math teacher.
Martha tries again to amuse him, singing a jingle that
was a hit at the party. “Who’s afraid of Virginia Woolf? Virginia Woolf, Virginia Woolf…,” and asks George if he didn’t think that was funny. He responds that he thought it was alright, and Martha tells him that he makes her puke.
The doorbell rings and George opens the door as Martha is cursing him. It seems that the new couple regret coming and Nick suggests maybe they should leave. They end up entering and bear witness of Martha and George's Quarrel.
Martha and Honey excuse themselves to go to the restroom. George and Nick converse. George then tells him about the campus practice of sleeping with other professor’s wives. Nick snaps, irritated with George’s crassness. Nick is a biologist. As a historian, George sees biology as a science determined to eliminate mankind.
George gets mad after discovering that Martha mentioned to Honey the forbidden topic of their son the two women were out of the room.
Martha continues to bicker George about his weakness and insult him. After George goes to get a drink she tell Honey and Nick of the reason behind their Marriage. After George returns from the bar he starts singing who's afraid of Virginia Woolf. Honey feels ill.
Nick explains that his wife is frail and shouldn’t drink, and then tells George that Martha is in the kitchen making coffee.
George tells the story of the boy who killed his parents in Highschool. Nick reveals that he married honey because he thought she was pregnant. It turned out to be false.

Honey :
is a seemingly sweet person, However it is later discovered that tricked Nick into marrying her through a fake pregnancy. She spends most of the play drunk in the bathroom.
Nick :
He is a new member in the biology department. He feels that he deserves better than Honey. It is also revealed how power hungry he is in a conversation he has with George and in an intimate interaction with Martha.
Martha's Father:
He is president of the college. He regularly hosts Saturday night parties. When George came into the picture her father saw him as an ideal husband for his daughter and a suitable heir for his position. Her father then later discovered that he isn’t capable of coping with this responsibility
Martha:
Martha is the daughter of the president of the college where George and Nick are professors. She is married to George. This broken marriage affected her psychologically and made her drown her sorrow in alcohol. She admits to a history of infidelity and flirts with Nick throughout the play.
George:
George experienced a traumatized childhood. He wrote a novel about a boy killing his mother and father in an accident can be seen as a possible autobiographical. Martha claims that it was George who killed his parents exactly the same way as the boy in the story did. Martha's father views this book as a failure which leads him to burning it.
